Acrylic vs. Hot Melt Adhesive?
If you are using Pressure Sensitive BOPP, there are two adhesives that dominate the market -
Water Based "Acrylic" Adhesive
This is a very popular, environmentally friendly adhesive, that offers -
- Superior Clarity - will not yellow over time
- Can be applied from 32F up to 120F, once on the box offers good freezer performance
- Has superior "Fiber Tear" performance when pulled off box
- Rohm & Haas offers the best Acrylic Adhesive and is available on Qspac's PA series
Hot Melt / Synthetic Rugger
- Good choice for high speed machine application
- Will yellow with UV & Oxygen exposure
- Very good internal strength for springy box flaps
- Shouldn't be applied below 40F
Qspac offers both Acrylic & Hot Melt products. Very happy to discuss further with you.
