My Experience
I started my packaging career in 1979, as a sales rep for the Foam Pac / Strap Lok company -the Dow Chemical converter of Pelaspan loose fill cushioning material. I was based out of their San Jose facility and covered Northern California.
I joined American Packaging in 1981. I became a Distributor Rep selling Tape, Stretch Film, and Strapping Materials in the Silicon Valley & Bay Area. All of my time was spent calling on end users.
In 1986 I relocated to the Seattle area and began representing Bemis - Distributor Products Division - which manufactured BOPP Hot Melt Tape, Stretch Film, Case Sealers , and Case Erectors. I sold through distribution, covering the Northwest. In 1992, I was promoted to Sales Manager for the Western U.S..
In 1995, I went to Thacker Container as Branch Manager for their new warehouse facility in Kent, WA.. Thacker was a major supplier of Stock Boxes and Packaging Supplies. Thacker was sold to Tharco two years later.
I Joined Sekisui TA Industries / STA, in 1997 as their rep for the Northwest. STA was a premier manufacturer of Acrylic Carton Sealing Tapes . Their use of Rohm & Haas's Acrylic Adhesive set them apart from the rest of the competition . As the market began to change, STA let all of their sales & Marketing team go in 2009.
I joined Adheva, an importer of tape in 2009, but decided I needed to go out on my own.
In April of 2011, I began Miles Packaging Source - representing Tape, Stretch Film, Shrink Film, and Packaging Equipment. This has been a great experience and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
I represent Qspac & Tach-It in the Northwest. These suppliers sell their products through wholesale packaging distributors.

This service comes with an energy, vision, and lean business model not found with traditional corporate suppliers. My reputation has been built on frankness, honesty, integrity, and broad industry and product knowledge, and I give my customers a stable, predictable, and efficient supply chain from the select group of suppliers I represent.
Clients
The suppliers I represent sell only through Wholesale Packaging Distributors. Most of my time is spent with Distributor Sales Reps, helping them gain and maintain business. Their customers are the actual End Users - companies that manufacture, process, or distribute products needing to be packaged.

I will do my best to be available by phone & email to help you with any packaging challenges you have. I will respond promptly and thoroughly. I will involve the appropriate contacts with each of my suppliers to get your needs met. I will do what I say and say what I will do. If I can't help you, I will try to steer you to somebody who can.
